A successful Senior Platform Engineer joining our Platform Reliability Engineering team will do much more than manage infrastructure, tools, and services. You will be leading a technical effort that builds automation and services that make operating a high performance, large scale distributed system simple and easy.

Our team creates next-generation cloud platform solutions to support our growing Internet of Things ecosystem. In this role you will have the opportunity to design solutions to business problems that are unique. In addition to this, you will help us support, scale, and optimize our production services, and be responsible for the implementation, design, and architecture of our next generation public cloud platform.

Let’s Talk About Responsibilities:

• Own and enable teams (product and platform) to deploy, manage, configure, scale and monitor their applications using an infrastructure Infrastructure as code Code driven approach.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders and multidisciplinary cross functional teams to implement deployment strategies for existing and new types of services.
• Continuously seek performance improvements in the areas of system automation and management. 
• Build out a robust system to auto-scale our numerous platforms and work closely with our development engineers and other cross-functional teams to improve the build model, and continuous automated deployment and delivery to production environment
• Design and implement systems improvements by assessing current situation, evaluating trends and anticipating requirements.
• Solve and analyse problems (identify abnormalities, etc.), monitoring and documenting
• Lead the design and execution of production acceptance tests and new service evaluations
• Be our best practice advocate within your area of work.

Let’s Talk Qualifications and Experience:

• Tertiary Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Proven, solid, commercial experience as a Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer or System Engineer or DevOps.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working with AWS, Azure and other cloud platforms. Ideally AWS Certified.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes.
• High-level scripting language (Python, Terraform, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
• Experience in all aspects of system administration and engineering.
• Experience with configuration management and automation frameworks (Jenkins,  Bamboo, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Knowledge of Networking technologies (i.e. TCP, Load Balancing, Routing, Switching, Firewalls)
• Familiarity with software design patterns.
